if YOU want an apology for stomping on someone’s head.

What happened to the good ol’ days when the police were in charge of roughing up protesters?

Increasingly, that work seems to be outsourced to the growing fringe of the GOP.  This week Rand Paul supporter, Tim Proffit, was caught on camera stomping on the head of a liberal activist who was protesting a Paul rally.  And he stomped her real good.  Clearly this was no east coast,  liberal-elite stomp, it was a good ol’ keep your woman in line Kentucky melon-buster.  In fact, if she were biting the curb, it could have been a scene straight out of AMERICAN HISTORY X.  It was that bad.

If that was not enough, yesterday Tim Proffit demanded an apology!  It’s not his fault, though!  He just had to use his foot because:

“I couldn’t bend over because I have issues with my back.”

In an interview with a local news channel, he goes on to say:

I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.  I would like for her to apologize to me.

I’m not sure if that’s going to happen any time in the near future.

Of course Paul’s campaign condemned his actions, but this is becoming a tired charade of apologies and dissociation and, in most cases, the violence, racism and hatred by GOP supporters goes unchallenged. But this instance was just too blatant for Paul not to comment, so he quietly condemned Profitt’s actions  and washed his hands of the whole situation.

The lesson? With the frequency of these incidents there is no denying that the GOP, Tea Party candidates ARE the far right fringe of the republican party. They are like the mob boss who orders a hit in veiled language and shrugs his shoulders when the cops bust his henchmen. Profitt is not the real villain in this story.  The true perpetrators are the leadership of the GOP who covertly order the hits.
